Well, I suppose this is the most particular of my suggestions. Really not for everyone. The guy running this place might look a little funny, but he loves what he’s doing and he does it well.
I don’t believe he earns a living from his little place, so he’s probably doing it just because he likes it. He only cooks two or three dishes, so when you sit there it’s either that or nothing.
Ηe is also a butcher and as far as I know, the only one in Kalamata who makes his own ‘gyros’ (which is exceptional). One can cherish his extravagance better if he has tasted his way through the traditional tavernas. This one is different! You only meet locals here …. of a class that might make you think you’re in the underworld…. but don’t be afraid, the worst thing that can happen is that they invite you to drink with them. Sometimes there is also live music here, ‘rempetika’ stile.
